WHO IS SGT ROBERT
Sgt Robert in Combat
Born to Kabera Bosco and Betty Beteisa, Sgt Robert Kabera, a 31 years old, better known as Sgt Robert,he is most likely the best known Afro beat Rwandan musician.
Sgt Robert is a military young person serving in the Army Band Unit after serving 7 years as an Instructor in Gabiro School of Infantry.
He is a singer, author, illustrator, actor and a songwriter, born in Uganda in Mbarara District on 1st July 1979, he is the first born of his family and he is still single and he lost both of his parents while he was still young.
He started his career of music when he was in Gabiro Training wing where he was a military instructor and emerged as a morale booster in 1997. In 1999 he recorded his first single called “Uezo Tunao”. From that time he recorded two albums of which one of them was launched on the 4th of July 2010 (the albums Kama Jeshi)as Rwanda marks the liberation day.
Sgt Robert in his own words, “Since my childhood, I have liked everything related to art such as music, dance, cinema, book writing”. These explain why he chose to be a musician and an actor. He likes swimming and reading the Bible in his free time.
Sgt Robert sang several songs such as “Impanda, Gihugu cyatubyaye, weekend, Kama Jeshi, Majeshi Makali, Humura, Njoo Kwa yesu and many more. He is hoping to write a book about his life as an orphan who became a soldier and his way to music industry.
He is also looking at acting in a movie titled 108 of which he will soon provide the description of 108.
